Mindfulness is more then than ‘just meditation’ and relaxation.

It is a skill for strengthening resilience to stress, increase self-reflection, attention and general well-being.

The mindfulness training, or Mindfulness Based Stress Reduction (MBSR), was developed by Dr. Jon Kabat-Zinn in the Stress Reduction Clinic at the University of Massachusetts. It's about active learning.

You build on the strength you already have to improve your health and well-being.

It is taught in an in-depth course which allows for ongoing support and weekly processes. We will practice getting out of our heads and back into the moment. At the same time, we train our attention in order to learn how to deal better with intruding thoughts and emotions.

Mindfulness is a skill that you can integrate into your daily life.

 
 

MBSR in the group

The MBSR mindfulness training is given in a m group of max. 10 participants. Here you will learn to practice mindfulness in form of meditation and movement exercises. Each session consists of the direct experience of mindfulness and the integration of relevant topics such as self-awareness, stress and behavior modification. A personal intake conversation is included and free.

MBSR private

Group training is not always an optimal option for everyone. Therefore, I also offer private MBSR or for couples. Here the timing is more flexible, and there are more opportunities for personal contact and deepening. A personal intake conversation is included and free. .

About the trainer

My name is Mona Irrmischer, I'm a neuro-psychologist (Ph.D.) and have studied the effects of meditation on the brain at the Vrije Universiteit Amsterdam. I also followed a 3-year body-oriented therapy education and since 2014 teach mindfulness and stress reduction courses for groups and offer private sessions.

I moved to the Netherlands about 10 years ago and it’s been around that time that I got into contact with mindfulness. It has since been a beautiful journey and it has become a vital part of my personal life as well as my work. For me, an important element of mindfulness is regaining the connection between the body and the mind. Becoming aware of ourselves and getting out of our heads (although, I actually do research on the brain), and back into the moment, back to life. Mindfulness helped me to rediscover my inner skills of how to be with stress in a different way and to become aware again and again of the beauty around us. Reminding me of what is really important.
